Top 6 Personalisations to Make Your Car Less Boring

Whenever you watch sci-fi films they are chock full of predictions for the way that our technology and lifestyles will change. Among these various changes, one of the most popular predictions is that we are going to use exciting looking cars. Even if we aren’t in hover cars, it seems that most sci-fi films expect us to be driving glowing pods that hum rather than growling and generally the consensus is that our current vehicles look somewhat old fashioned.

Perhaps part of the problem is how uniform they all are, and how boring they all look. Ultimately all vehicles follow the same patterns and even exciting sports cars have the usual tropes – four wheels, auto glass where you’d expect it, and a block colour for the design. Of course cars are the shape they are for a reason – it’s tried and tested and it’s known to be aerodynamic and energy efficient. But need every car look so samey?

Actually there are several ways you can personalise your car and make it more interesting. Here we will look at a few you can do easily that will make your car more personal and more unique – even if it’s not necessarily futuristic.

1 Stickers

Getting car stickers is one great way to make your car stand out in the crowd and to help you quickly find it when you’re parked. Generally you only see car stickers when they’re for advertising purposes but there are many other images you can get that will look great on your car – for instance if you’re a fan of the Transformers films why not get an Autobots or Decepticons logo for your car? Alternatively if you’re a speed demon, why not get flames for the sides of your car?

2 Spoilers

This is something that can make your car look more futuristic or at least more high tech. Race cars have them to help them corner, and while you might not need them per-say, they can make your car look a lot more exciting. Just don’t use them if you have a people carrier – it looks ridiculous.

3 Sun Roof

Many people don’t realise that they can have mechanics put a sun roof into their car relatively cheaply. This is something that will make your car unique if the model doesn’t typically come with a sun roof, but more to the point it can make it more relaxing to sit back and look up at the stars.

4 Alloys

The alloys on your wheels are another subtle change you can make which will make your vehicle look a bit more slick and a bit more exciting. Again though you want to be sensible here – look for alloys that say ‘cares about their car’ not ‘over excitable teenage boy’.

5 Soft Toys

Attaching soft toys to the front of your car is a great way to make it more personal and is common for truckers in particular. It’s not particularly slick looking or futuristic, but it will certainly give your vehicle personality and make it easy to identify quickly.

6 Dashboard Decorations

There are many great things you can add to your dashboard from more stuffed toys, to pictures of your family to nodding Churchils. Find something that makes you smile and then make sure that you attach it firmly.
