In our post-modern world, we’ve come to rely on the latest, greatest technology and that includes high-tech gadgets.  We love our high-tech gadgets don’t we?  I can’t imagine life without a cell phone or computer.  It would be quite difficult to give up all of our convenient and practical gadgets.

Many high-tech gadgets are quite affordable believe it or not.  I’ll be covering several of the most popular and “cool” high-tech gadgets that cost less than $500.

1 Smartphone: Motorola Droid X

First, let’s start off in the cell phone world.  Almost everyone has a cell phone, but not everyone will put forth the money into a high-tech one.  One of the more popular cell phones right now is the Motorola Droid X, which has a 4.3-inch touch screen and an 8-megapixel camera with HD video capture, and 24 GB of memory. It also has a GPS navigation system and an FM radio. You can connect to the Internet and do all of your social networking via the Droid as well.  Cell phone users love the Droid. You can purchase a Droid for as little as $50 when you sign up for a cell-phone contract.

2 Tablet: Apple iPad or iPad 2

Second, Apple’s ipad or ipad2 is a high-tech gadget that boasts great reviews by users.  The ipad is simply the best way to experience the web, as you can browse your favorite sites, check your email, or store your pictures and videos.  The ipad 2 is lighter and faster than the ipad and has 10 hours of battery life, Wi-Fi, and dual cameras.  With a 9.7-inch LED-backlit IPS display, you’ll be satisfied with the graphics.  This lightweight gadget will locate Wi-Fi networks and, within moments you’ll have the Internet at your fingertips.  The ipads begin at around $499.

3 eReader: Amazon Kindle DX Wireless

Next, the Amazon Kindle DX Wireless is an e-book reader that is about 6 inches long and is easy to carry around so you can read books everywhere you go.  The Amazon Kindle has two different versions; one that has Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity, and one that just has Wi-Fi, has a 4GB internal memory, and is capable of storing 3,500 electronic books. The Kindle DX Wireless Reading Device has 3G and a 9.7-inch display, which is 2.5 times bigger than the size of the Kindle display.  You can download eBooks within minutes and read anytime and anywhere! Starting price is $379.

4 GPS Navigation: Garmin Nuvi 3760T Auto GPS

The fourth gadget is the Garmin Nuvi 3760T Auto GPS.  This GPS gives you detailed directions and is a must for those that travel.  This GPS features a lane assist with junction view, which helps you know which lane to be in when approaching a turn or exit.  It also gives you the estimated time of arrival and has Bluetooth capability.  You will never find yourself lost again with this gadget. Prices begin at $299.

Next time you’re in the mood for a new high-tech gadget, check out these cool gadgets, as well as others, and treat yourself to a new gadget soon.

When shopping for high-tech gadgets, make sure you purchase the gadget with a credit card that offers purchase protection and extended warranty benefits. With purchase protection credit cards, you’ll be protected against theft, loss and accidental damages.  With extended warranty benefits, you’ll get the warranty doubled on eligible items for up to an additional year.  Combine both benefits for peace of mind on your next high-tech gadget.
