To bring one of the greatest guest blogging contest under attention I have already tweeted and shared the hell out of it on my social networks, but I couldn’t just post it here. No. It had to be a list.

Blog Engage is one of the Blogosphere’s up-and-coming social bookmarking and RSS directory website. Not only is it possible to submit your articles by hand and have people vote for them, you can also submit several of your RSS feeds and the inexpensive RSS Service will do the submitting for you! It’s an awesome way to gain exposure and get backlinks, but also an incredible way to meet bloggers just like you.
So don’t waste another moment and browse around the site, vote for articles that appeal to you and join in the conversation in one of the chatrooms.
2 Reasons to join the blogging contest
Now for the real deal: Every month, Blog Engage hosts a fantastic guest blogging contest, the month of June being the 3rd time it’s being held. There are loads of reasons to join a contest such as this and also different people, bloggers and publishers alike, who should consider joining, but more on that in the 5th item of this list.
To name a few of the obvious motivations to join:
- Cash prizes to win – up to $200 each month (see item 3 of this list)
- Exposure of your blog and an easy source for backlinks
- A great community of bloggers to exchange ideas, but of course also help you promote your guest article

4 How To Win
Here’s the scoop in a nutshell:
1. Enter the contest
You enter the contest by writing an article about the Blog Engage contest on your own blog. Actually it should be an article such as this, although I’m not a contestant myself. You can copy-paste most of this from the contest’s official page, but of course it’s cooler to write something yourself. Just don’t forget to include the list of sponsors, as this is one of the few requirements to enter this contest.
2. Write a smashing article and post it on Blog Engage’s WordPress blog
You can sign up for a guest bloggers account here. Write your article and have it published before the end of the month.
3. Promote your article for points
On the last day of the month (June 30th in this case) contest submission closes and then you have 13 days to promote the hell out of your article. Have your friends and social network Tweet, Share, “Engage” at Blog Engage, etc. Each of these shares and Likes will give you points. Obviously, gain the most points and win that glorious $200 prize.
The point distribution for social media and reader interaction is as follows:
- Tweet: 1 point, up to a max. of 250 points
- LinkedIn share: 1 point, up to a max. of 500 points
- “Engage” at Blog Engage: 3 points, unlimited points
- Comment that provides value: 5 points, unlimited points
A big social network helps a lot, but to really boost your point count, add any of the following banners to your blog (courtesy of yours truly) to be awarded additional points:
+ 100 points: 125×125 banner
+ 300 points: 468×60 banner
+500 points: 300×250 banner
Naturally, you can expect your competitors to do all of the above, but to actually gain a real advantage, you can do one more wicked thing: write Sponsor Reviews on your own site!
