Top 5 Things Needed for Teeball

Teeball or t-ball is a sport that provides building blocks for baseball and softball. Teeball is played every year for players between the ages of three to six years old. Teeball is very similar to baseball or softball but aimed at younger children.
The main differences are the ball is hit off a batting tee, there are no outs, and the scores are not normally kept. Likewise, there is a coach but parents have a big part supporting their children.
There are some essential pieces of equipment players need to play teeball. Teeball leagues may provide some of the equipment but the players are limited to use the equipment only on days of practice and games. Listed below are five pieces of equipment I feel are necessary to get ready for teeball.
1 Glove
Every teeball player has to have their own glove. They will use it at practice, at games, and pick-up games they’ll play in their neighborhood. When they get older they may even play baseball or softball during physical education. Breaking in a glove takes time so I recommend this is the number one item to have. Players own their gloves for years until their hand gets too big. Then it’s time for an upgrade.
2 Teeball Bat
Players are big or small and they each need their own bat so practice to become comfortable using it for games. There are bats specifically made to hit off a batting tee.

3 Cleats
Not absolutely necessary but baseball cleats will help players run on wet grass and dirt. Children will fall down and cleats will help prevent that. Cleats are not universal so make sure they are for teeball and not for soccer.
4 Baseball Pants
Jeans or sweat pants will not work during teeball games. Baseball pants are more durable and players need the comfort and protection the pants provide from the playing field.
5 Ball
Owning a teeball allows a player to practice on his or her own time. Throwing and catching doesn’t happen overnight so practice on one’s own time pays off. Every little bit of practice helps in the end.
