For many people, spring time means one thing: baseball season is finally here! From April til October, sports fans all over the country will gather together to cheer on their teams. Why not try one of these awesome DIY projects to show everyone how big of a fan you really are?

1. Turn Old T-Shirts into Tote Bags

Do you have one baseball t-shirt that is too old to be worn, but that you can’t bear to get rid of? It’s super easy to turn an unwanted tee into a highly useful tote bag. You can carry your groceries home in these environmentally friendly bags, or store all your necessities in them at the big game.

2. Make a Fan for a Fan

Baseball games take place during the warmest months of the year, and usually in outdoor fields. Keeping cool is a must for any avid baseball fan. This simple guide shows you how to make your very own fan out of plastic and popsicle sticks. You can even decorate the fan with your team’s logo or paint it like a baseball. It’s a great project for kids and is sure to make other game attendees jealous of your functional memorabilia.

3. Tape Together a Team Wallet

You just bought Cincinnati Reds tickets, but you don’t have anywhere to put them. With some red duct tape and a little online guidance, you can throw together your very own Cincinnati style wallet. Of course, you can use any color duct tape you want, and you can even add team artwork with paper and clear tape. This project is a great alternative to purchasing wallets at the store—especially since you’ll still have money to keep inside it!

4. Sew a Quilt with T-Shirts

Not all baseball games are played under ideal weather. Even Texas has its fair share of cold. Another great way to utilize old t-shirts is to sew them together into a nifty quilt. Whether you’re shivering at the stadium or cuddling up on the couch at home, you can stay warm under your team’s logo or your favorite player’s number.

5. Create a Custom Phone Case

When you’re filming the star player stepping up to the plate, you don’t want your iPhone to look boring. Check out this guide for putting together your own customized phone case. Even if you aren’t very artistic, all you have to do is print out a picture of your team’s mascot and cut it to fit inside a clear plastic case. This way you won’t have to spend a ton of money on an expensive phone case and can afford drinks and nachos at the game.

6. Build a Better Beer Cooler

This one’s gonna take a little know how, but as long as you’re willing to put in the effort you can make an awesome jockey box to keep your drinks ice cold. Decorate your cooler with your team’s coolers and become the life of the tailgating party.

No matter which team you’re cheering for, there’s all sorts of cool projects you can do to show a little support. Head on over to your favorite team’s home game and show off your new stuff!
