Angry Birds is probably one of the biggest apps for iPhone, Android and Nokia phones. With well over 50,000,000 downloads for these platforms and at the hight of the madness spreading 60,000 per day, no one can doubt the popularity of this type of game.
Although the concept isn’t new at all, there aren’t many other (good) alternatives to find. There have been more games like this, but without the awesome flair of chirping and exploding birds they just haven’t made it to the same level as Angry Birds. That, and most haven’t been released for iPhone, iPad, Android or Nokia phones.
Here’s a list of five of the best Angry Birds alternatives in the form of free Flash games for PC, Mac and whatnot.
1 Crush the Castle 2
Crush the Castle 2 is the successor of the equally popular, you guessed it, Crush the Castle. In this second edition there’s actually some cool, better physics going on and loads of different types of ammo for your medieval catapult. The objective is much the same as Angry Birds: destroy the castle and kill the king, queen and soldiers within.
2 Sandcastle
Kind of the same concept, only you get shot at yourself as well. You have you defend your city and castle against the enemy by shooting at them with a huge canon. After each level you also get to upgrade it with the points you gathered.
3 Siege Master
Siege Master looks a lot like Crush The Castle 1 and 2. Actually, it looks a exactly like it. It’s pretty cool as well though, so no need to skip this one in the list. Controlling the catapult works a tad different as well, so just see for yourself.
4 Destroy The Village
Not quite the same, actually. You control different types of rockets to blow up villagers and the stuff around them. It has a 1337 physics-engine so you can use crates and such to kill people.
5 Sieger
Another one just like Crush The Castle and Siege Master. Pretty enjoyable actually.
Pretty weird how I couldn’t find any proper “launcher” games on any other site than Armor Games. Hmm.
